"Aw, nuts!"
-The I. rex every time its escape plans are foiled

The Indominus rex (Latin: "Fierce or untamable king"), or I. rex for short, is the main antagonist of the film Jurassic World. It is a hybrid dinosaur of multiple creatures, with the T. rex as its base genome. Having been created by InGen for the purpose of bringing in new attractions for Jurassic World (and secretly for the purpose of creating a bioweapon for the military), the I. rex has spent most of its life in captivity, and has thus become a psychopathic, sadistic, and cruel predator.

History[]

Jurassic World - Raptor Training?[]

The I. rex makes its HISHE debut in "Raptor Training," in which it devours Owen's raptors and declares that it is the only one allowed to eat Chris Pratt. It then chuckles and says to the audience, "See you real soon!" before vanishing.

How Jurassic World Should Have Ended[]

The I. rex is first seen trying to escape its enclosure, using claw marks to make it seem like it escaped. Claire is worried that it escaped, but when Owen informs her she could track the I. rex, she learns that it is still in the enclosure, camouflaged, much to its displeasure.

Later, Owen and another worker flee from the I. rex, and only survive through a gate that is too small for the I. rex to enter.

In another gag, the I. rex attempts to break out, but fails to notice the existence of a moat.

Later, Zach and Gray attempt to start an old Jurassic Park jeep. The batteries fail, and the I. rex berates them for trying before eating them.

Owen's raptors soon track down the I. rex, which persuades them to eat the humans. Owen then orders his team to gun down the I. rex.

Trivia[]

  • The I. rex is voiced by Jon Bailey in the Jurassic World HISHE. This is despite the fact that all dinosaurs bred in Jurassic World are female.
  • In "Raptor Training," the I. rex is depicted as a palette swap of the T. rex. In the Jurassic World HISHE, its design is closer to its film counterpart.
  • The I. rex's catchphrase, "Aw, nuts!", has been used by other characters in later HISHE projects, such as Pennywise in How IT Should Have Ended.
